Dr. Colin M. Jackson
Orthopaedic Surgeon
B.Sc.(Biochemistry), MD, FRCS(C)

Dr. Jackson is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon who serves on the active staff at Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, BC, where he is also the Past Head of the Division of Orthopaedics. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and a licensed member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, Dr. Jackson also contributes to medical education as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Involved in the orthopaedic community, he is an active member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (COA), BC Orthopaedic Association (BCOA), and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and is a Past President of the BC Hand Society.
Dr. Jackson earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from UBC in 1998, followed by an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency in Vancouver, training at Vancouver General Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital, and Royal Columbian Hospital. In 2004, he pursued advanced fellowship training in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery at UBC under the mentorship of Dr. Peter Gropper, solidifying his passion for upper extremity care.
Since joining Surrey Memorial Hospital in 2005, Dr. Jackson has a busy practice that also operates out of the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. His clinical expertise spans hip and knee replacement surgery, knee sports injuries, and upper extremity procedures involving the hand, wrist, and elbow. A large portion of his work focuses on hip and knee reconstruction and orthopaedic trauma, though he also enjoys treating adolescents and younger patients who come through the emergency department.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Jackson enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he can often be found hiking, biking, or running up mountains - activities that reflect his energetic and balanced approach to life.
